Do I really need counseling?

Everyone goes through challenging situations in life. There's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it.  Counseling is a step in self-care: taking responsibility by accepting where you're at in life and asking for help when you need extra support.

Counseling provides long-lasting benefits, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, re-direct self-defeating patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

  • If a client threatents to hurt himself or herself.

Safe Environment

  • A counselor can handle difficult topics and will listen to what you have to say.

  • A counselor will not judge.

  • A counselor has empathy and understanding.

What's a Session Like?

Every session is unique to each client and their specific goals.

  • 1st session: Typically an intake assessment. Discussion of primary issues and concerns in your life.

  • Following sessions: Establish goals and work on personal growth.

  • Sessions are usually scheduled weekly and last around 50 minutes.

  • For therapy to be most effective, clients must be active participants, both during and between the sessions.
